Ingredients
For the Gatte
Besan (gram flour)
1.5 cups
Salt
to taste
Red chili powder
1 tsp
Turmeric powder
¼ tsp
Coriander seeds
1 tsp
Fennel seeds
1 tsp
Kasuri methi
1 tsp
Oil
1 tbsp
Yogurt
2 tbsp
Water
as needed
Ghee
1 tsp
For the Gravy
Yogurt
1.5 cups
Salt
to taste
Turmeric powder
½ tsp
Red chili powder
1 tsp
Coriander powder
1 tbsp
Garam masala powder
1 tsp
Ghee
1 tbsp
Catch ginger garlic paste
1 tbsp
Kasuri methi
1 tsp
Gatta water
as needed
Recipe Instructions
Step 1
In a mixing bowl, combine besan, salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander seeds, fennel seeds, oil, and yogurt. Mix well to form a semi-soft dough.
Step 2
Shape the dough into cylindrical pieces.
Step 3
Boil water in a pot and add the cylindrical dough. Boil for 4-6 minutes until cooked.
Step 4
Remove the gatte and cut them into bite-sized pieces.
Step 5
For the gravy, mix yogurt with salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and garam masala.
Step 6
Heat ghee in a pan, add kasuri methi, and then add the yogurt spice mixture. Cook until the ghee separates.
Step 7
Add gatta water and the cut gatte to the pan. Season with salt to taste.
Step 8
Garnish with kasuri methi and serve hot.
